The world is in trouble precisely because people invest their faith and
belief systems in other peoples' experience. I think the answer for us
as a human race, and for myself personally, is to place more trust, more
faith, in my own experience and to make decisions from my own
experience. To whatever extent the expressions of others can help me
express what I already know intuitively inside myself, that's valuable.
But to adopt a second-hand opinion as your own is part of the old
paradigm that I think we're maturing beyond and waking out of.
